Tufanbeyli Domestic Lignite Power Plant, which is considered to be the largest domestic lignite power plant in Turkey, built by the private sector, which we commissioned in 2016, is located in between Yamanlı-Kayarcık-Taşpınar villages in the Tufanbeyli district of Adana province. The capacity of the power plant, which works with fluidized bed technology, is 450 MW. The power plant consists of 3 units and is designed to have low water consumption. There are also limestone quarries planned to be operated in order to provide limestone to CFB boilers and flue gas desulphurization (FGD) system within the scope of the project, in which a dry-type cooling system is used. The plant is equipped with a flue gas treatment system that allows limestone to be added to the kiln and the wet FGD system. It is expected that our power plant will generate approximately 3,375 GWh of electricity annually by using 2 tons/MWh of lignite and will meet approximately 2% of Turkey's energy demand.
